The Society for Handicapped Citizens of Medina County has been an awesome agency over the years. I have a peace of mind knowing my daughter is getting the best care and quality of life experiences possible.

Due to medical issues, when it appeared the only option left for my sister's care was a nursing home, I lost all hope for her. I found SHC through the MCBDD. SHC literally saved my sister's life. It's hard to know where to begin, the nursing staff are second to none. The therapy to help her physically recover, walk, eat, and speak again was outstanding. All necessary medical appointments and transportation are handled by the staff. I can't believe what my sister has been able to achieve since arriving there, it is absolutely more than I thought possible. The staff that work one on one daily in the home with the residents are caring, respectful, and encourage residents to be as independent as they are capable. The housemates really care for each other. It feels truly like a family atmosphere. The day program adds additional socialization, education, gym, music and crafts, which my sister loves. My sister is well cared for, she is happy, and I am so grateful! Thank you to the Staff at SHC, I don't know what we would have done without you!
