Monarch Lifeworks

3.33 star(s) from 3 reviews

Lifeworks is a nonprofit organization committed to ensuring that adults with autism have more independent and enriched lives by providing opportunities to learn, engage socially, and participate in meaningful work.

Originally developed by Bellefaire JCB, Lifeworks was launched in 2013. The agency was created to extend both the reach and scope of specialized Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) services offered by Bellefaire’s Monarch Center for Autism, beyond what had previously been reserved for school-aged youths, to an adult population. Rooted in the Monarch Model, Lifeworks’ services embody the same philosophy and standards found in the other Monarch settings.

A dynamic interdisciplinary team of behaviorists, educators, counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, nurses and college-degreed direct care professionals collaborate to provide specialized support and training for adults with ASD. Lifeworks affects positive change in adults with autism at home, at work and in the community.

Ok service, 09-08-2020 02:43PM

By: Mother of Person Served in Cuyahoga county

Always felt my child was safe and cared for. The staff had college degrees which was at times falsely reassuring because they were not always very well trained in challenging behaviors. One staff in particular who fancied herself as an expert inadvertently reinforced and created many problems that have taken many months to undo. That staff person was a very well meaning, but not open to new ideas, even when evidence based. This kind of rigidity can unfortunately lead to long term problems. Management did not seem to have the experience to rein her in. Some staff on the other hand were great. I al incredibly grateful for the time my child spent with those staff members! I would have stayed with the company in spite of their sometimes poorly trained providers, but we were dropped from the service and told it was no longer being provided. But parents talk, it is a small community, so know I know this was not true. Sadly that we have gone over a year now without any consistency while they continue to provide the service... just not to my kid. It is disheartening. While I was firm with my expectations I was never rude or aggressive with them, so I am still perplexed why my son got dropped and others did not. It is almost impossible to find a replacement. I would happily accept the imperfections of this company to the Wild West we are up against in finding our own private provider. Buyer beware and definitely don’t get comfortable as your world could get turned upside down in an instant if you get dropped like we did.

Uniquely Qualified Provider, 08-01-2017 12:07PM

The only provider we found with college degreed, caring staff and administrators.

They also have a good staff to student ratio based on your individual's needs.
