My son's developmental disabilities (DD) present some communication challenges. But our HomeWatch caregiver always sees him as a whole person. She works with my son on challenges a little bit at a time while they're out having fun! She's won his trust (and mine), so she can push him forward to help him transition from a son at home to a more independent adult. That shows her skill level, from years in this field. We are so lucky. We also love our DD service coordinator who doesn't just assign care and bill...she listens to my worries and helps me understand the big picture from her years of DD administration. HomeWatch truly cares for me, as much as my son.
